A flat gate valve is a type of sliding valve where the closing element is a parallel gate. The closing member can either be a single gate or a double gate with a spreading mechanism between them.
The pressure exerted by the gate on the valve seat is regulated by the medium pressure acting on either the floating gate or the floating valve seat. In the case of a double-gate flat gate valve, the opening mechanism between the two gates helps to provide additional pressing force.
Flat gate valves are categorized by their driving method, which includes manual, pneumatic, and electric flat gate valves.
Depending on their application, flat gate valves can also be classified into types such as those with a diversion hole, those without a diversion hole, oil field flat gate valves, and pipeline flat gate valves.
This series of flat gate valves features a new type of floating sealing structure, making it ideal for use in oil, natural gas, and other pipelines with a pressure not exceeding 15.0 MPa and temperatures ranging from -29°C to 121°C. These valves are designed for opening, closing, and regulating the flow of control media.
The product is known for its innovative structural design, suitable material selection, rigorous testing, and ease of operation. The WKM gate valve is particularly renowned for its strong resistance to corrosion, wear, and erosion, making it an ideal piece of equipment for the petroleum industry.
(1) The valve undergoes strength and sealing tests before leaving the factory. During use, all connections should be maintained in their original state.
(2) The operating handwheel of this valve series is marked with indicators for opening and closing rotation. The upper part of the rising stem gate valve is equipped with a height scale to assist with opening and closing adjustments.
(3) When welding the valve to the pipeline, the valve should be open. The flat gate valve should be adequately protected with damp material to shield the neck, minimizing heat conduction to prevent damage to the sealing packing.
(4) It is strictly prohibited to use an extension bar when closing the valve. When the gate reaches the fully closed position, rotate the handwheel 1/2 turn to allow the gate to float.
(5) During use, periodically inject grease into the bonnet grease joint. If leakage occurs due to worn parts, they should be replaced promptly. During valve maintenance, clean the inner cavity and apply grease to each transmission part during reassembly.
(6) During storage, the gate should remain in the closed position. Store the valve in a dry, well-ventilated area and conduct regular inspections and maintenance for long-term preservation.
Flat gate valves are ideal for use in natural gas, petroleum, chemical, environmental protection, urban pipelines, gas pipelines, and other transportation pipelines, as well as venting systems and storage devices. They serve as opening and closing equipment. The Z43 type single gate flat gate valve with a diversion hole is particularly suited for long-distance pipelines used in the exploitation and purification of natural gas.
The size range for flat gate valves is DN25 to DN1200, with a pressure range of 0.6 MPa to 45 MPa and ratings of 150Lb to 3000Lb.
Flat gate valves with diversion holes are used for pipelines that require clear pipe balls, while flat gate valves without diversion holes are used in pipelines that do not require clear pipe balls.
